Latest News & Upcoming Events to Connect and Inspire

At Pelican Park Community Trust, we recognise the importance of community engagement for fostering growth and cohesion. Our 'News and Events' section provides updates on the latest activities, initiatives, and ways for individuals to participate constructively. Events range from charity drives to sports competitions, offering a variety of engaging options. We encourage participation in our regular activities, which include children's clubs aimed at enhancing creativity, gatherings for senior citizens to promote social interaction, and health-oriented programmes at our café. Additionally, our sports clubs—encompassing football, tennis, and netball—are always welcoming new participants who want to engage in both fun and fitness. We invite you to check our page often to explore opportunities for involvement, support local initiatives, and connect with other members of the Pelican Park community.

PELICAN RANGERS AFC - NEW UNDER 6 TEAM

Football sessions for children under 6 are an excellent way to introduce young ones to the beautiful game while promoting teamwork, coordination, and physical fitness. These sessions typically emphasise fun and play, allowing children to develop basic skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting in a supportive environment.

Coaches often use engaging games and activities tailored to their age group, ensuring that every child enjoys the experience and fosters a love for football from an early age.

With a focus on inclusivity and encouragement, football sessions for under 6s lay the foundation for a lifelong passion for the sport.

WALKING FOOTBALL

Walking football is a dynamic and inclusive variation of the traditional game, designed specifically for older adults and those looking for a lower-impact sporting option.

This unique format allows participants to enjoy the benefits of social interaction, physical activity, and teamwork without the strain often associated with regular football.

Players are required to keep one foot on the ground at all times, promoting a slower pace while still encouraging skill development and tactical play.

As walking football continues to gain popularity across the UK, it serves as an excellent way to enhance fitness, foster community spirit, and bring people together through the love of the game.

Happy New Year

Let's hope 2025 is a good year for everyone!

Team Pelican would like to wish everyone a Happy New year and hope that you enjoyed the festive season!

We look forward to seeing you all very soon.
